Patty Hagen is a dedicated and experienced education professional committed to guiding students in their academic and career journeys. She currently serves as a Comprehensive School Counselor for grades 9-12 at Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana. Previously, from December 2021 through 2024, she served as the school's College and Career Counselor, helping students navigate postsecondary planning and career exploration.
In addition to her work at Memorial, Patty has extensive experience in school counseling and
leadership. She has worked as the Director of School Counseling at Scecina Memorial High
School in Indianapolis and the Director of Guidance at Indiana Agriculture and
Technology School based in Carmel, roles she's held in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Patty is also an entrepreneur in the field of test preparation. Since 2022, she has offered
tutoring services to help students prepare for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. Recently, she
established an LLC specializing in test preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and
ACT, further expanding her ability to support students in achieving their college admission
goals.
With a background in both business and computer science education, Patty began her
career as a Computer Science Teacher at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and later as
an Professor of Business & Information Technology at the University of Indianapolis. She
went on to teach Business & Computer Science while eventually working as a School
Counselor at St. Theodore Guerin High School, where she served for 15 years. Her
professional experience in higher education includes working as a Graduate Student Advisor
and Graduate Assistant at Ball State University.
Patty holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Saint Mary's College - Notre Dame, a
Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Ball State University, and a Master of
Science in Counseling from Butler University. This strong academic foundation has
equipped her with a deep understanding of both education and student support services.
Beyond her professional roles, she is deeply committed to volunteer service, having served as
a Board Member and Case Manager for Ben's Ranch Foundation, which supports youth
mental health through equine therapy and agricultural experiences. She has also served as an
Equine Specialist at Hoofprints to Hope and as a Horse Handler at Agape Therapeutic
Riding Center, combining her love for education with a dedication to therapeutic support.
With a career spanning over 35 years in both secondary and higher education, Patty Hagen
brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership to her work, helping students
navigate their academic and professional futures with confidence.
